Rihanna’s Super Bowl pregnancy reveal may not have been exactly as it seemed.
While speaking with Access Hollywood about her partnership with Puma, the singer, 35, opened up about her iconic Super Bowl halftime show in 2023 during which she announced her second pregnancy with partner A$AP Rocky, 35.
“Here’s the thing. I did what I had to do, right? My jumper couldn’t zip up,” she said with a laugh. “No one knew I was pregnant. I just told my stylist, ‘Make sure it’s stretchy.’”
“So the undergarment was stretchy and this was baggy, but you know, the zip. It just stopped right there! So it had to be what it had to be.”
The “Umbrella” singer played up the big pregnancy reveal in the opening moments of her February performance, rubbing her stomach and leaving the zipper of her outfit — a jumpsuit layered over a close-fitting bodysuit and sculpted bandeau — down to reveal her belly.
“She loves being a mom so this is where her mind is at the moment,” a source told PEOPLE in February about Rihanna’s parenting style. “She is the happiest she has ever been.”
In August, sources confirmed to PEOPLE that the couple had welcomed a second baby boy, son Riot Rose, to the family.
Later in the fall, Rihanna and her rapper partner posed for a series of adorable photos that featured the couple’s newborn baby, as well as son RZA, 19 months.
In the pictures, Rihanna held baby Riot while Rocky carried RZA on his shoulders, posing together for the first time as a family of four. RZA, who wore the newly released FENTY x Puma Avanti in aged silver, looked adorable in a miniature leather jacket. The musician and mom of two was also photographed carrying her newborn alone as she leaned up against a car.
Additional pictures showed the couple playing with Riot on a blanket as he sweetly smiled up at his parents.
