The heartbreaking reason why Rihanna flew to Barbados that night

Rihanna was in full mourning when she attended her beloved late grandmother’s funeral in Barbados.
The singer looked visibly pained as she made her way to the ceremony sporting a simple black shift dress, with her jet black locks styled into a beehive.
The 24-year-old’s unique style still came across in the demure outfit as she donned a pair of heelless black shoes.
With her head down and hair covering her made-up face, the pop star looked devastated when she was seen emerging from a chauffeured car.
She put on a brave face to perform at the Wireless Festival in London’s Hyde Park over the weekend.
Drowning her sorrows and showing the strain, the star tweeted a picture of herself, make-up free and holding what appears to be a beer in her hand.
With heavy bags under her eyes, the singer – who attended a memorial service for her grandmother in New York last week – looked absolutely exhausted in the snap.
She seemed to be standing in her bedroom and was wearing a simple white vest.
Rihanna captioned the photograph: ‘I had to!!! Sorry granny’, clearly referring to Dolly.
Rihanna has been through a tough few days, and it would not have been surprising that the very recent death of her grandmother would have caused her to pull out of her headlining gig at the Wireless Festival over the weekend.
But the singer managed to plaster a smile on her face and dazzle the crowds at the Hyde Park event, after flying in shortly after attending Dolly’s first funeral in New York.
The singer closed her second festival in as many weeks, and didn’t disappoint the waiting fans.
Appearing onstage in a midriff-baring studded top, lacy underwear over stockings and peacock-patterned billowing sleeves, the singer gyrated and belted out all of her hits.
She added a black leather cap with a python embellishment and chunky black boots. Her neck, wrists and hands were adorned with statement jewellery, including a multicoloured hexagon ring by Me and Zena.
Rihanna was pictured leaving her London hotel a few hours earlier and was embraced by fans.
She had flown in the day before, shortly after attending her grandmother Dolly’s memorial service in Brooklyn.
Last Friday, the singer was pictured heading to the ceremony in Brooklyn looking visibly upset.
